Yes, we do get a few trade-ins. We have found, though, that often times a used jon boat (after adding seats, carpets, electric motors, etc.) is more expensive than a comparable new jon boat.
Which is the best brand of aluminum boat?
You really have to compare exact specifications and design from the exact size boat you want. All companies make different gauge and size models. A company may make one size boat real well and not have a real good design on a different size, for example. Our buyers go to shows across the country each year, They are constantly searching to find top-notch products at reasonable prices. Our six manufactures are all at the top of the aluminum boat industry and we sell their best boats.

The gauge is simply the thickness of the metal, measured in thousandths of an inch. Hence the higher the gauge, the thicker the metal.
What is the difference between a riveted and welded boat?
A riveted boat's ribs and braces are held in place with marine rivets, while a welded boat's ribs and braces are spot-welded in place. Generally, only larger boats are available in all-welded construction and they are a little more expensive that riveted boats.
What is the difference between a flat bottom jon boat and a modified V?
A modified V boat has a slight angle at the front to help chop its way through the water. A pure flat bottom boat is flat at the front and will bounce on top of the water. A modified V front will give you a better ride in rougher water. In calmer water both boats will perform the same. Modified V hull boats generally cost about 10% more.
What determines whether a boat needs a short or long shaft motor?
The height of the transom is the only factor that matters. A boat with a 15" or 16" transom needs a short shaft motor. A boat with a 20" or 21" transom needs a long shaft motor.
How big of a boat do I need to move around in?
In general terms, most people need a boat with a 36" bottom to comfortably walk around in. The length of the boat will make very little difference in terms of stability. A boat with a 48" bottom is exceptionally stable. Several people can move around in a boat of this size.
Do you sell boat packages?
Yes and no. (That's a real good answer, isn't it?) Most boat dealers now will not break up boat, motor, and trailer packages and sell you what you need. With the exception of a few products, we will sell you just a boat, motor, or trailer - or a combination of any of the three. We also assemble many of our most popular packages. A few of our boat lines can only be purchased and sold as packages and we designate these in our catalog.
Are these prices negotiable?
No. We make every effort to have the lowest prices on jon boats and related equipment as anyone anywhere. Our volume buying power allows us to do this. We are proud of our low prices. How many dealers do you know that publish their prices online (A lot of dealers don't even give out prices on the phone!) We will be glad to spend all the time you want to find the best equipment for your needs, but we will not argue over prices with you.
How soon can I use a boat after I buy it?
Immediately upon purchase, the dealer's bill of sale will serve as a 60 day temporary boat registration. We can also handle the trailer license and title for the appropriate fees. We can also handle the trailer license and title for the appropriate fees.

Do you sell tunnel boats and why do you use a tunnel?
Yes, we offer a few models. A tunnel is used to allow a boat to run generally in 3-5" of shallower water depth. There are some performance problems and should be used in only extreme cases like rocky rivers or shallow sounds.
Do you sell jet motors and why do you use a jet?
Yes, we offer a few models. Jets are used to achieve the shallowest running boat & engine combination. Manufacturers recommend not using a jet on a tunnel boat. Occasionally, a jack plate or riser is required to get proper installation height. Jet motors use more fuel, are more sluggish in turns, and suffer a 25-30% drop in power
